In the book Mark of Athena, all seven main characters have a lot of problems. The friends are Annabeth, Piper, Hazel, Leo, Jason, and Frank. They are all demi-gods or sons of the Greek and Roman gods. Piper is daughter of the love goddess Aphrodite. Hazel is daughter of the underworld god Pluto. Annabeth is daughter of the war and wisdom goddess Athena. Percy is son of the sea god Poseidan. Leo is son the machine and fire god Hephestaus. Jason is son the sky god Jupiter. Frank is son the war god Mars. Together they make the perfect crew.
The first problem arises when ghosts possess them and make Leo attack the Romans, making them refugees to the Roman army. Another mistake was made when they were attacked by monsters and they didn't guard their ship welll enough and it was damaged. Finally, Annabeth was trying to find the Athena Parthenos to bring the Roman and Greek army together peacefully. On the way she broke her ankle accidently. My friends and I get into trouble but we don't have monsters to worry about. We have never gotten into a situation where things possess us. We have never been in an all out war either.
Their luck turned when they found the Athena Parthenos and trapped Annabeth's mortal enemy Arachne. Also they had killed two giants fighting for the bad guy Geae with the help of the Roman god of wine Bachuus. Either way the crew had pretty good luck.
This book was amazing! It had a lot of suspense. They were not very fortunate at times but sometimes things work out the way they want. I am happy I don't have to go through such trouble and life threatining situations.
