In the book the Mockingjay Katniss Everdeen is in a war with the capitol. This war started because the capitol would make kids fight for their lives in an arena for entertainment. Katniss has a sister named Primrose. She also has two very close friends named Gale and Peeta. The capitol divided each district into 12. The capitol also assigned things for each district to do. Katniss, Gale, and Peeta live in district 12. But during the war district 12 was burned into ashes and the survivors escaped to district 13 which was believed to have been destoyed.
Katniss is afraid of president Snow. He is really evil and he started the hunger games. He made people fear him to the point that nobody stood up to him. Katniss though is a firebrand and is easily angered. She volunteered herself for her sister. Snow toys with people as if they were marionette dolls.
Also Snow fought the opposing side in the war Katniss fought. He in the end was excecuted after Katniss won the war. When Snow and Katniss were talking before the war they were full of threats. Then at end of the war Snow was friendly. Snow is a tricky enemy. Katniss calls him a snake a perfect name for Snow.
In the end the book is amazing. It is full of surprises and suspense. If you like books that have action this is perfect. Although it is not ment for the ill hearted because of the gruesome parts in the book.
I've always wanted to read Mockingjay. Now that I know what it's about I can start reading it without confusion. You did a great job explaining events in the book. And that last paragraph you wrote really makes me want to read it.
