Over the summer, I read this amazing book called Percy Jackson and the Olympians-The Last Olympian. This was the last book of the Percy Jackson series. The series mainly revolves around greek mythology.  In the book, there are demi-gods who are normally have one human parent and one god parent.  This means that these demi-gods are half god and half mortal (human).   The god's demi-god children are sent to "Camp Half-blood" to be trained in the ways of the demi-god. Unlike most demi-gods, Percy is unique. He is the son of one the "big three" gods (Zeus, Poseidon and Hades). His father is Poseidon, the god of the sea. The other powerful gods is Zeus, god of the sky, and Hades, god of the Underworld. After world war II the "big three" gods made a pact to never have anymore children since the war was between Zeus and Poseidon's kids on one side and Hades kids on the other. In the series however, Percy broke this pact. But he is not the only one involved, there is Thalia daughter of Zeus and Niko son of Hades.

In this book, the evil Titan Cronus took over a demi-god named Luke. Cronus is using Luke's  body and is raging war against Camp Half-Blood and the Gods. Cronus let the monster Typhon go on rampage. In greek mythology, Typhon is the Father of all Monsters.  He has serpent tail and wings.  Everyone is fighting except for Hades.  He has refused to help because no one has ever helped him. Towards the end of the book, Hades decides to join the war and help, when his son convinces him. Camp Half-Blood starts to gain the upper hand as Hades fights crowds of mythological monsters. Then at the end of the book, in order to stop Typhon, Poseidon stops fighting under the seas and comes to the earth to help chain Typhon. Cronus reaches mount Olympus for a final showdown fight with Percy. Cronus doesn't know that he doesn't have full control over Luke's body and Luke overpowers Cronus. Luke kills himself as a last resort to bring Cronus to Tartarus (the pits where monsters live) and Camp Half-Blood wins the war.

I love this book because it is very intresting. I love greek mythology and the book ties all the history I have learned from my mythology book into an entertaining story.  There are some parts in the book that would make the reader giggle but most of the book was suspenseful. Many of the parts were action packed with intresting mythology making the book even better and educational.
